Percolation Tests

Before installing a septic system Pima County requires a Percolation test to be performed. A Percolation test, or "Perk Test" is a process where a licensed septic installer and civil engineer excavate a small area of your land where a future septic system will be installed. This is done usually with a backhoe and roughly takes about 3-4 hours, with minimal damage to your property.

During the excavation process, the installer, homeowner and engineer will discuss your building plan and what area of your property would be most suitable for a new septic system. Once determined the installer will excavate several profile and percolation holes to determine the soil type, and percolation rate. Once this process is complete the engineer will document the data and prepare a septic installation plan.

If you require a Percolation Test please call 406-3871 and ask for David. The testing can normally be scheduled in the same week in which you call.
